Open to the public, our custom built CryoScience Arctic Chamber is state of the art taking the effects of muscle recovery, weight loss, anti-aging, and disease prevention to a whole new and safer level.

It has an electrically adjustable window and temperature control to provide patients with the option to have the treatment with their head safely above the cold temperature environment!

A cryotherapy session takes three minutes and it starts by the patient entering the CRYO Chamber where cryogenically cooled air is released. Improvements in the skin’s appearance and increased energy are immediately noticeable after the first treatment. For longer lasting results, a minimum of 10 sessions are generally recommended.

Highest safety standards through the prevention of any patient contact with cryogenic gases; patients ONLY come in contact with cryogenically cooled air! The Arctic is the safest full body cry chamber in the world. Used by many professional and collegiate sports teams, allow ICEBurg Cryo to be your go to facility for repair, recovery, and restoration!

Science

When the right cryotherapy equipment is used, the science of subjecting the entire human body to extreme cold temperatures to stimulate the healing of its circulatory, nervous, and energy systems is a powerful remedial technology. According to scientific and medical research, the optimum efficiency of whole body cryotherapy procedures, is achieved once the body is exposed to temperatures between -120°C and -150°C, reducing the skin’s surface temperature to approximately 5oC. These non-invasive, short, and extremely cold bursts of air projected to the human body evoke physiological reactions that prompt healing and recovery in numerous fields, including beautification treatments, sports injuries rehabilitation, and medical functions. Additionally, the controlled cold environment has been proven to trigger an analgesic reaction in the neural mind leading to positive mood states and thus acting as an antidepressant and sleep disorders repairer.

CONSULTATION

PREPARATION

TREATMENT

AFTER TREATMENT

Before your first Cryotherapy session, you will fill out a physical readiness form. Our technician will ensure you are healthy enough to undergo treatment, your blood pressure will be taken and the technician will explain the process and answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Once you are ready, you will enter into the changing room undressing into undergarments and removing all jewelry. Men need to wear briefs or boxers. Women can wear underwear but it is not necessary. All clients must be DRY! If you are coming in after a workout, please bring dry underwear to wear inside the Arctic Chamber! We will provide you with fresh socks, gloves, slippers and a robe. These items are required in order to protect the extremities of your body. Privacy is very important to us! We will only see your face, as the rest of your body will be in the Arctic Chamber.

Now that you are ready to go you will step into the machine. For full body, you can close the window and have your entire body, including your face exposed to the cold air. If you prefer to not have your face in the chamber you have an adjustable window to allow your face to stay out during the session. Once there, you will remove your robe and the technician will start the machine. Cryogenically cooled air is released and will surround the body for up to 3 mins. As the cold receptors beneath the skin sense this sudden extreme change of temperature, the body goes into “survival mode” and the blood vessels near the skin quickly constrict (vasoconstriction) to send blood to the major organs to maintain core body temperature. You can request at any time to STOP but we suggest you try to go for at least 1 ½ minutes to receive the full benefit of Cryotherapy.

Once you step out of the Arctic Chamber you will head back in the dressing room. When you re-enter into a room temperature environment the blood vessels quickly dilate (vasodilation) and the blood rushes back to the skin. Within 1-2 minutes, you will begin to warm up and feel the euphoric and energizing effects of Whole Body Cryotherapy. The entire treatment takes approximately 15 minutes. Now you can enjoy the rest of your day feeling Repaired, Recovered and Rejuvenated!

frequently asked questions

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Arctic Chamber is an upright, step-in chamber that releases nitrogen cooled air to decrease skin surface temperatures to approximately 32 degrees F. This is achieved in 30 seconds or less and remains nearly constant for the duration of the session, which lasts up to 3 minutes. Skin receptors immediately sense the cold and send brain signals to promote regulatory functions of the body, thus triggering the release of calming endorphins into the bloodstream.

IS NITROGEN GAS HARMFUL TO HUMANS?

No. Nitrogen gas is non-toxic. In fact, the air we breathe, is 78% Nitrogen. When it comes to the machine, you NEVER come in contact with it, making our machine the safest in the world.

HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER A SESSION?

Due to the endorphins that are released into the bloodstream during treatment, the body is relaxed as toxins are flushed away. This process is what creates a feel good, energetic mood for clients which lasts up to 8 hours. Most clients say they have the best night of sleep after a Cryo session.

CAN I GET A COLD FROM THIS TREATMENT?

The body’s immediate response to the cold therapy will be to raise the body’s temperature a few degrees for a brief time. However, effect of overall stimulation to the immune system can help decrease the severity as well as frequency of future colds.

CAN I USE WHOLE BODY CRYOTHERAPY IF I’M CLAUSTROPHOBIC?

Absolutely! Your entire head can be exposed, the door cannot be locked, and a staff member is present throughout the entire process.

MUST I SHOWER BEFORE OR AFTER THE SESSION?

No. The entire procedure is dry. Many people come on their lunch break since the treatment is 3 minutes or less. Most all-specific scheduling requests can be accommodated.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS CAN I GET IN ONE DAY?

A person can receive 2 treatments a day, with at least 4 hours between each session. 5 consecutive daily to every other day sessions are recommended to establish the body’s baseline and have lasting beneficial effects although most people are energized immediately after their initial treatment.

WHO IS THIS TREATMENT RECOMMENDED FOR?

Everyone from elite athletes to those seeking weight loss and cosmetic enhancements to those with chronic and inflammatory medical conditions can benefit from Whole Body CryoTherapy. For patients as young as 14, a parents consent is required to receive this treatment. However, it is not recommended for anyone younger than 14.

WHO SHOULD NOT USE WHOLE BODY CRYO TREATMENT?

Not recommended (contraindicated) for the following: Anyone who is pregnant – has acute myocardial infarction (MI) – unstable angina pectoris – arrhythmia – symptomatic cardiovascular disease – cardiac pacemaker – peripheral arterial occlusive disease – venous thrombosis (blood clots) – acute cerebrovascular accident – uncontrolled seizures – Raynaud’s Syndrome – symptomatic lung disorders – bleeding disorders – severe anemia – cold allergy – acute kidney diseases and severe hypertension (BP>180-100).
